salian: CBI concludes ‘Disha Salian’s death was an accident’

The CBI has concluded after its probe that Mumbai-based talent manager Disha Salian‘s death was an accident, said people with knowledge of the matter.

Although the agency has not lodged a separate first information report into Salian‘s death, it probed the matter in connection with its investigations in the Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput‘s death case.

Salian, 28, had reportedly fallen from the 14th floor of Galaxy Regent building at Malad in suburban Mumbai on the intervening night of June 8-9, 2020. She died five days before the body of Rajput was found at his rented residence in Bandra on June 14.

The agency, which is treating Rajput to be a case of death by suicide, has been probing the angle of abetment, if any, before filing its closure report. “Since serious allegations were levelled in the Salian matter and claims were made that the two deaths were linked, as Salian had briefly worked for Rajput, her death has been probed in detail,” a senior official told ET on condition of anonymity.
