Min temp settles at 8.3° C in Delhi as AQI remains at ‘very poor’


Delhi‘s air quality was recorded in the ‘very poor’ category on Saturday as the maximum temperature settled at 27° Celsius, one notch above the season’s average, according to the India Meteorological Department.

The minimum temperature was recorded at 8.3° Celsius, three notches below normal, it said.

According to the data by the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), the 24-hour average Air Quality Index (AQI) stood at 336 on Saturday.

An AQI between zero and 50 is considered ‘good’, 51 and 100 ‘satisfactory’, 101 and 200 ‘moderate’, 201 and 300 ‘poor’, 301 and 400 ‘very poor’, and 401 and 500 ‘severe’.
The weather office has predicted haze on Sunday. The maximum and minimum temperature is likely to settle around 27 and 8 degree Celsius, respectively.

The humidity oscillated between 90 per cent to 58 per cent, it said.
