Four dead after a canoe overturned in the Bharathapuzha river at Punchikadavu near Purathur in Kerala’s Malappuram on Nov 20. A group of six, including four women, had gone to collect clams on November 19 afternoon. They were returning to shore with clams when the boat met with an accident. All six people fell into the current. Two women were found dead. Later, a search was made for the two missing persons but to no avail. The bodies of the other two were found this morning during a search by trauma care workers. The bodies of the four were handed over to their relatives after post-mortem at Tirur District Hospital.
